A public awareness programme on prevention of AIDS was organized on the world Aids Day December 1, 2010 under the auspices of Akhil Bhartiya Jankalyan Vikas Samiti at Pipalgaon village under block Development Area II, Kaurihar (Allahabad) on the occasion Sri Krishna Kumar Pandey, Secretary of the Samiti talked at length about the extent of this dreadful disease in the world and added that according to UNAIDS report about 33.4 Lakh people including 2.5 Lakh Children are suffering from aids at present and the no is still increasing. This is a matter of great concern for each one of us and we have to fight this menace jointly, in a planned and concerted way.
Sri Krishna Kumar Pandey discussed in details the factors causing this disease and measures to prevent it. According to him, safety and knowledge of this ailment was the best measure of its prevention. An AIDS patient always needs our sympathy, affection and love, and never the hatred.
Sri Pradeep Nirmal, A social worker, speaking on the occasion, said that this disease spread first of all, from an animal named Chimpanzee and has now assumed an alarming shape. He advised the human folk to be faithful to their life partner and take all preventive measures in relation with them invariably. Essentially a fresh and sterilized syringe must be used for injection, and never a syringe used in administrating injection to an AIDS patient, every time a shave is made the blades and razer must be cleaned in sterilized water before hand to prevent an infection.
